The presence of a high-level Russian delegation in Isfahan Chamber of Commerce

The meeting to review business and investment opportunities in Isfahan and Russia was held with the presence of a high-level delegation of Russian businessmen, the heads of 7 chambers of commerce of this country and the Russian Consul General in Isfahan.

According to the public relations report of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, in this meeting, the president of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, while explaining the potentials of Isfahan province, said: “The opportunity provided by the high-ranking politicians of the two countries to deepen and expand the business and investment relations between Iran and Russia is a great one for the businessmen of the two countries.”
Masoud Golshirazi expressed his hope that the commercial, industrial and investment relations between the two countries will further deepen and develop.
He considered Isfahan to be one of the destinations of foreign tourists and expressed his hope that the new relations between the parties will lead to cultural connections in addition to establishing commercial interactions.
According to the President of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, the presence of more than 50 thousand industrial units as an important base for spare-parts and steel production, an important hub for the production of auto parts, the existence of prominent and large food industries, the establishment of industrial greenhouses, a hub for the production of wooden and textile products, and the existence of large mineral companies are the existing capacities in Isfahan province and added that Isfahan was ready to cooperate with Russia in all those fields.
Golshirazi further stated that the presence of the heads of seven Russian Chambers of Commerce in Isfahan Chamber of Commerce is a good opportunity for Isfahan's private sector parliament to deepen bilateral relations and stated: “The presence of the Russian Consul General in Isfahan is also a promising support for the economic activists.”
The Speaker of Isfahan Private Sector Parliament also emphasized the need to pay special attention to the development of infrastructure and the removal of transportation obstacles between the two countries and added: “This is a restriction that has affected the fluency of trade between the two countries, which is necessary in cooperation with the Iranian chambers of commerce and Russia and the government officials of the two countries to remove them.”
Golshirazi mentioned that the customs issues preventing a smooth trade in between and obtaining a special standard for Iranian goods traded into Russia as other existing points to be handled and said: “Due to the special conditions in Russia, this matter has been facilitated in the last few months, yet the removal of customs obstacles will facilitate commercial relations of the parties’.”
Amirreza Naghsh , Deputy Coordinator of the Economic Affairs to Isfahan governorate, too, stated that Isfahan province is the most industrialized province in the country as well as being culturally competent, encompasses more than 10 thousand large and active industrial and agricultural production units in it. He further added: "The positive political events between Iran and Russia in recent years have also affected the commercial and economic exchanges of the parties, and we hope that competent memorandums of understanding will be concluded between the provinces of the two countries."

Naghsh also mentioned the foreign investment opportunities available in Isfahan and invited Russian investors to benefit from them.
In addition, Boris Burmistrov, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Isfahan, while expressing her satisfaction with the holding of this meeting, said: “These close interactions will improve the parties' understanding of each other's potentials.”
While announcing the all-round support of the Russian Consulate in Isfahan to various companies to expand business relations between them, he said: “Recently, the commercial cooperation of the two countries, especially the regional cooperation, has been boosted so as to say the records in this field have been broken.”
The Russian Consul General in Isfahan stated that last year Russia's trade growth was 81% and added: “According to the available statistics, the volume of trade between Isfahan and Russia has increased 3 fold in the last six months.”
Emphasizing that the development and consolidation of trade relations between Iran and Russia has been increasing since 2019, Boris Burmistrov added: “Due to the positive results of this memorandum, this spring the existing memorandum was extended for three years and we hope that the free trade between the two countries should be signed soonest possible.
Soren Vardaniyan, Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, while explaining Moscow's capabilities, said: "It is very important to create logistics infrastructure of Iran and Russia and a mechanism to resolve disputes between the businessmen of the two countries, to remove obstacles to financial exchanges between the parties, and to pay special attention to commercial interactions."
He mentioned the existence of the commission for cooperation with Iran and the existence of the international arbitration center to deal with businessmen's affairs in the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, among the capacities available in this chamber.
The vice president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce stated that five Iranian delegations have been received in Moscow so far and announced the readiness of this Chamber to conclude a memorandum of understanding with the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce during the visit of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce to Russia.
In addition, Mohammad Reza Morshedzadeh, the international senior adviser to Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, also announced the establishment of a new mechanism in currency exchange with Russia and added: “In this safe financial channel, which is set between Exim Bank and RFC Bank from Russia and Tourism and Export Development Bank from Iran, in addition to not needing to circulate funds in the exchange network, there is a significant reduction in the transaction fees and risks for Iranian businessmen.”
Ali Karbasizadeh, the Senior Adviser to the President of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, in this meeting, while emphasizing the necessity of maintaining the production capacities of the two countries to be present in the world markets, one of the characteristics of the development of cooperation between Iran and Russia is the familiarization of Russian businessmen with the experiences acquired by their Iranian counterparts to work together in getting the knowledge on the conditions of the embargo.
Further, while explaining the tourism potential of Isfahan province, he suggested that the heads of the Chambers of Commerce of the Russian provinces, present in this meeting, should benefit from the tourism potentials in developing trade between the companies of the two sides.
Alireza Salarian, head of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Isfahan province, also announced the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the interactions of the chamber of commerce and economic sectors of the province with the Russian Federation with the help of the Iranian Embassy and Consulate in Russia and the Russian Consulate General in Isfahan.
