Business cooperation opportunities between Isfahan and Russia’s Sakha state were investigated.

A meeting to examine business cooperation opportunities between Isfahan and Russia’s Sakha state was held at the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce.
According to the report by public relations of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Ahmad Pazandeh, the head of the Trade, Services and Communications Commission of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, said: “due to the similarity of the economic conditions of Iran and Russia, a favorable situation has been prompted to facilitate the trade relations and the development of import and export between the two countries, and Isfahan Chamber of Commerce is ready to take necessary steps in the trade cooperation”.

Furthermore, while expressing hope in increasing the commercial and cultural interactions between Isfahan and Russia, he said: “In addition to being one of the top historical cities in the world, Isfahan is also a university city and the second industrial city of the country”.

Gholamreza Akhwan Farid, while pointing to the first rank of Isfahan province in some industrial fields such as steel, textile, food industry and production of chemical and herbal medicinal products, stated: “Considering the favorable relations between Iran and Russia and the fact that the two countries are under sanctions, the development business interactions will be possible in many fields”.

Mohammad Sadeghi, the head of the Agriculture, Health, Water and Environment Commission of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, also pointed to the activity of the cargo terminal of Shahid Beheshti Airport in Isfahan and emphasized the need to use this capacity to export agricultural products of Isfahan Province to Russia.
 
Kirill Bychkov, the Prime Minister of Russia’s Sakha (Yakutia) state, stating that Yakutia province is located in the northeast of Russia with an area of 3 million square kilometers, emphasized that, housing 35% of the world's diamond reserves and having rich reserves of gas, oil, coal and precious metals are the characteristics of this province.

He stated that the most important part of Yakutia's economy is related to the mining and minerals sector and said: “We are ready to cooperate with our Iranian counterparts in the field of processing food products, IT sector, wood and heavy industries, especially shipbuilding”.

Bychkov, while expressing his interest in the commercial and cultural cooperation between Russia's Sakha state and Isfahan, said: “One of the most important activities that we have focused on is the field of agricultural products, and wood can also be imported from our region to Iran”.

While referring to Iran's activity in the field of jewelry production and precious stone processing, the Prime Minister of Yakutia state considered cooperation in this field as another potential and added: “Considering the changing conditions in the world, we need to expand cooperation between them”.

Expressing on the existence of more than 100 races and nationalities, high potential in attracting investment, being among the 10 advanced industrial regions of Russia, the existence of tourist attractions and the second place in the field of minerals in Russia among other capacities in Yakutia, and the size of the domestic five billion dollars annual economy of this region, which has increased by 60% compared to previous year makes the state very attractive.
 
Emphasizing that more than 20% of Eastern Russia's products are produced in this province, Bychkov said: 9% of Russia's IT filed belong to Yakutia province.
 
He also announced the possibility of considering special incentives for Iranian investors in this province, due to the existence of conditions for allocation areas for the expansion of commercial exchanges between the two provinces, the possibility of attracting investment in the development of commercial terminals in Yakutia, joint cooperation in the construction of hotels and tourism infrastructure, IT and wood processing is available.
 
The Prime Minister of Yakutia state named China, Japan, South Korea and India as the most important business partners of this state and added: “We envision a clear perspective for cooperation with Iran”.
 
In this meeting, the director of marketing and international relations of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, while explaining the potentials of Isfahan province, emphasized the necessity of forming a joint council between Isfahan and Yakutia in order to examine future cooperation possibilities between the two provinces.
 
Following the meeting, a B2B session was arranged between the delegation members and the Iranian counterparts in the fields of food, agricultural and various industries.
