During the meeting between the members of the Board of Representatives of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce and the Sudanese Ambassador to Iran, the areas of expanding economic relations, exporting goods, transferring technical knowledge, joint investment, and extra-territorial cultivation between the two countries were discussed. The meeting emphasized the special role of Isfahan province in meeting Sudan's industrial and agricultural needs.
During this meeting, cooperation opportunities were discussed in areas such as gold, food industry, medical equipment, agricultural machinery, and aquaculture, and the two sides expressed their readiness to plan specialized meetings and joint trade delegations.
Isfahan's readiness for exports and investment in Sudan
Amir Keshani, president of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, referring to the wide range of industries active in this province, said: Isfahan has high export capacities in various fields, including steel, mining, agriculture, new technologies, food industries, jewelry, and textiles.
He added: "In addition to exporting goods, we are ready to cooperate with Sudan in transferring technical knowledge."
Referring to the existence of gold mines in Sudan, Keshani said: "The gold industry in Isfahan has high production and design capabilities, and economic activists in this sector are ready to invest directly in Sudan's mining projects." Keshani invited the Sudanese ambassador to introduce Isfahan as a business destination for the business delegation at the Iran-Sudan Joint Future Meeting, adding: "International flights to Isfahan facilitate the access to this region."
Isfahan's agricultural potential and the opportunity for extra-territorial cultivation in Sudan
Vahid Dezfuli, head of the Agriculture and Related Industries Commission and member of the board of representatives of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, said that despite the widespread sanctions, Iran's agricultural production is still booming, adding: "More than 20 percent of the country's agricultural products are exported, which indicates the high potential of this sector." Referring to Iran's need to import products such as corn, he suggested cooperation in the field of extra-territorial cultivation.
Dezfuli, citing the experience of Isfahan economic activists in cultivating coffee and cocoa in Ivory Coast, added: "There is the potential to design a successful model of interaction based on common interests in the fields of agriculture, livestock, poultry and farming, with the cooperation of Sudan." He also referred to Sudan's capacity in aquaculture and said: "A factory in Isfahan produces a big quantity of aquatic food daily, which could be the starting point for cooperation."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports economic cooperation
Mostafa Dolatyar, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ representative office in Isfahan province, said in this meeting, referring to the extensive industrial and commercial capabilities of Isfahan province: “Isfahan can meet a large part of the needs of Sudan, and this cooperation is not limited to the agricultural sector.” He added: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is fully prepared to facilitate trade relations and implement cooperation.”
Inviting Industrialists from to Invest in Sudan
Abdulaziz Hassan Saleh Taha, Sudanese Ambassador to Iran, referring to the history of friendly relations between the two nations, emphasized the necessity of enhancing the level of commercial and industrial exchanges. He said: "The recent visit of a 20-member delegation from Sudan to Iran and the visit of some members to Isfahan were promising beginning for the cooperation."
He described Sudan's high potential in the fields of iron, cotton, wheat, vegetables, legumes, and livestock, and invited Isfahan's economic activists to participate in investment projects.
He also referred to his country's need for agricultural machinery, equipment, fertilizers, and new technologies and added: "At the joint meeting between Iran and Sudan that will be held soon, we invite Sudanese businessmen to travel to Isfahan and get acquainted with the capacities of this province firsthand."
