The necessity of commercializing halal products with the support of the private sector
In the meeting of the Vice President of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce with the Director General of International Affairs of Iran Standards Organization, some economic activists and food product producers in Isfahan and a delegation active in the field of halal food from Turkieh, the importance of the activity and support of the private sector in the standardization of food products and other productions according to the indicators "Halal" and efforts to expand cooperation and hold scientific events between Muslim countries on the topic of "Halal food" were discussed.
Mohammad Jaafar Foodeh, the vice-President of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce welcomed the presence of the Turkish delegation and the head of the council of the Halal World Summit in Isfahan. He said: communication will help us to conclude agreements in order to hold an exhibition in cooperation with Turkish Halal Exhibition.
Referring to the conclusion of another contract with the aim of holding a conference and scientific events in this field, he stated: Of course, the issue of halal is not limited to food, but various related products could be included.
He added: According to the plan, on the 17th of May 2025, a conference on "Halal Standard in Food" will be held, hosted by the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce and Exhibition, and this event is a favorable opportunity to introduce twenty halal standards and raise awareness among the companies.
According to Foodeh, the memorandum of understanding concluded between Isfahan International Exhibitions Company as one of the top exhibitions, the representative of Turkieh and Isfahan Chamber of Commerce as a shareholder of the exhibition, is valuable, and of course, this matter will focus on the presence of several other chambers, including Iran, Tehran and Alborz Chambers of Commerce.
He, speaking about the necessity of forming a working group consisting of people who are involved in the coordinating the conference, as well as the representatives of the chambers, explained: In order to continue this cooperation, it is necessary to have Iran Chamber of Commerce and other chambers and relevant organizations to join Isfahan Chamber of Commerce in the matter.
In this meeting, Sayed Ebrahim Ebrahimi, Director General of International and Halal Affairs of the National Organization of Standards of Iran, expressed his gratitude for the Isfahan Chamber's welcome to attend and cooperate with Ehsan Avot, an active member of the Halal food industry in Turkieh, and the accompanying delegation, stated: Holding international exhibitions in cooperation with the economic activists in this field could be effective move in motivating producers.
He said: With the establishment of a platform for the “Halal Seal” in the country, the reception of applicants for receiving the halal seal and issuing the halal seal has been growing in recent years, and now we suggest that the secretariat of the conference be formed as soon as possible and from the group of chambers of commerce, Isfahan exhibition and National Standard Organization of Iran, as the country's only official authority in issuing the halal mark, all producers and providers of halal services, from medical and pharmaceutical products to food from farm to table, or from production to consumption of various products that have the halal mark, are invited.
The director general of international and halal affairs of the National Standard Organization of Iran noted: One of the most important issues in this time is the principle of halal, and we, in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to adhering to the principles of halal and cooperation, recommend that a contract for holding the Iran Halal Expo with the exhibition Isfahan to be signed and implemented.
In this meeting Ehsan Avot highlighted the importance and position of the private sector in standardization of production and transparency in product specifications and added: The activity and cooperation of various organizations, including chambers of commerce, (online data visualization and distribution platform for international trade data) and Expo, each of which has described different aspects, for the commercialization of halal products and private sector producers who operate under the supervision of government organizations and institutions.
