On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Isfahan and St. Petersburg sisterhood relation, a delegation consisting of the Mayor of Isfahan, two members of Isfahan city council and representatives of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce visited St. Petersburg to study the potentials and capacities to develop the bilateral ties between the two states.
Isfahan delegation attended different joint meetings with related authorities such as members of St.  Petersburg government, legislative assembly, chamber of commerce and industry, state duma, and ministry of foreign affairs.
According to the understanding made between the two sides, a joint work group consisting of experts in different fields of industry, investment, environment, urban management, tourism, cultural and social affairs will review and formulate the final road map of cooperation, to be signed by the mayor of Isfahan and the governor of St. Petersburg.
Isfahan and St. Petersburg's chambers also agreed to deeply study trade and investment opportunities to deepen the bilateral relations in near future.
