The inauguration ceremony of the 2nd Conference of the Chambers of Commerce Member of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Isfahan

Asia becomes stronger by promoting dialogue

The 2nd Conference of the Chambers of Commerce Member of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) with the presence of presidents and representatives of chambers of commerce of Asian countries and chambers of commerce of Iran inaugurated on Monday, 9 April 2024, hosted by Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA).
The president of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture said in the opening ceremony of this conference: A more powerful Asia will be realized by using modern technology and sharing knowledge between the members of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue and by respecting the dialogue.
Amir Keshani, the president of ECCIMA, while welcoming the guests, the presidents and representatives of the chambers of commerce of Asian countries, the members of the board of directors of the Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the presidents and representatives of the Iran regional chambers of commerce, the national and provincial officials who are the honorable guests of Isfahan, said: The prerequisite for growth and progress in all social, cultural, scientific and economic fields in any society is peace and tranquility, which is achieved through dialogue between different societies and cultures.
He called Isfahan the "peaceful city of the Middle East" and saying that Isfahan has long been a place of peaceful coexistence between religions, he added: Muslims, Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians have lived side by side in Isfahan for centuries and the history of no conflict between religions in this city has not recorded.
The president of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce stated that ACD member countries encompass 56% of population and 35% of the world's gross domestic product (GDP). These statistics and capacity show that with the cooperation of the chambers of commerce and the cooperation of the governments, we can hope that the Asian nations will achieve comprehensive development through synergy.
He continued: Dialogue is a prerequisite and the most basic tool of trade, and in addition to the exchange of goods and capital, trade also involves cultural exchanges, so it can be a factor for the development of dialogue and a platform for peace and stability.
Keshani noted: The 2nd conference of ACD in Isfahan, with the slogan "A more powerful and coherent Asia through new technologies" will start today (April 29, 2024) for the purpose of dialogue between chambers of commerce.
Referring to the holding of the meeting of the presidents and representatives of chambers of commerce to promote investment in Asia on the first day of this conference, he clarified: on the 2nd day, there will be four round tables on "new technology", "tourism", "food security & agriculture" and " "Sustainable Development" will be held, and I invite the guests to attend these roundtables and present their opinions for the development of Asia.
Stating that the statement and work report of this conference will be published as a final document in the closing ceremony, he invited the guests to visit the exhibition of Isfahan province's capabilities. The president of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce appreciated the efforts and supports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in holding this meeting and the presence of foreign guests.
 
The Asia Cooperation Dialogue was inaugurated in June 2002 in Cha-Am, Thailand, with the aim of promoting cooperation and regional integration between Asian governments and regional organizations, and now 35 countries are members. Iran joined this forum in June 2004 and in 2009 was chosen as a pioneer country for cultural cooperation. Iran is currently the chairman of this forum. Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Mongolia, UAE, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Türkiye, Nepal and Palestine are members of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).
