The President of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe met and discussed ways to increase cooperation between the two sides.
Amir Keshani, the president of the Isfahan Chamber, in his welcoming speech at the meeting admired the beauty of the city of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.
He continued: "Iran and Zimbabwe who have been subjected to sanctions imposed by the oppressive powers, have a long-standing friendship with each other. Many of Iran's manufactured goods are marketable in Zimbabwe, and some minerals and agricultural products for Zimbabwe are required by Iran. Tobacco is one of the exported products to Iran from Zimbabwe."
Keshani stated: "Holding the 3rd International Conference of Iran & Africa conference hosted by Isfahan in May 2025, and the attendance of Zimbabwean businessmen in this conference to familiarize with Isfahan's economic capacities can definitely be very effective in expanding the interactions between the parties. We will also try to dispatch a business delegation participated by major economic activists from Isfahan to Zimbabwe at a convenient time following the conference."
He called for establishing a connection between the Isfahan Chamber and the Harare Chamber, saying that base on the figures revealed by the trade map the total trade value between Iran and Zimbabwe is $ 6 million, which is very low, and this figure could be much higher, given the capacities of both sides, and we need to cooperate more with the Harare Chamber.
He continued: "Countries facing sanctions can overcome economic problems by improving their relations."
Zimbabwe is determined to expand economic relations with Isfahan
Bright Kupemba, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Tehran, stated: Isfahan has many capabilities in economic fields and we hope to have more economic relations with Isfahan. Isfahan is a hub of handicrafts and we hope to be able to cooperate in this field as well.
He continued: "We are interested in increasing economic exchanges with Isfahan. We are trying to have an economic delegation from Zimbabwe come to Isfahan and visit Isfahan's economic capabilities and potentials. Zimbabwe is active in tobacco production, and we can cooperate in this field and move towards developing exchanges by eliminating intermediaries and reducing prices."
The Ambassador added: "We should take measures to export mineral products to Iran at a more reasonable price by eliminating intermediaries. Another point about Isfahan is the use of knowledge-based activities in the fields of medicine and oil and gas, which can pave the way for expanding cooperation, because Isfahan is a pioneer in the field of science and technology. Isfahan is the heart of knowledge-based activities and we are ready to cooperate in these sectors."
He stated: "Recently, a delegation from the Central Bank of Iran traveled to Zimbabwe to explore ways to develop cooperation with Zimbabwean banks. We are ready to cooperate with Iran in all matters and hope to witness further prosperity in exchanges."
