The meeting of the officials of Orenburg, Russia, with the president of the Isfahan Chamber

Orenburg has a capacity to increase Isfahan's trade exchanges in Russia.

The president of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce said: Orenburg region has a capacity for Isfahan businessmen to increase business exchanges between Isfahan and Russia.
Amir Keshani, the president of the Isfahan Chamber, in a meeting with Grachev Sergey Ivanovich, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Orenburg region of Russia and the accompanying delegation, added: "The investment opportunities of Isfahan will be provided to the Consul General of Russia in Isfahan so that the investors from Orenburg can invest in Isfahan."
He added: There are very good opportunities for investment in Isfahan Province in the business field, and we hope that the meetings between the Orenburg Business Council and Isfahan Province will lead to constructive cooperation.
Seyed Vahid Dezfuli, a member of the board of representatives and the head of the Agriculture and Sub-industries’ Commission of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, pointing to Isfahan’s a strong commercial relationship with Russia said: Recently, 250 containers of agricultural and food products were exported from Iran to Russia, 25% of which belonged to Isfahan province.
Grachev Sergey Ivanovich, said that Orenburg Region is one of the largest southern regions of Russia with an area of ​​124,000 square kilometers. This region shares 1875 km border with Kazakhstan and is considered the gateway to the Asian continent.
Pointing out that the economic activity of Orenburg is in the field of oil and gas, industry and agriculture, he added: This region has been professionally active in the field of oil and gas for the past 40 years and annually extracts 20 million tons of crude oil and 20 billion cubic meters of gas.
He continued: Orenburg region is also very active in the field of machine manufacturing and metallurgy, and in the past its experts participated in the construction of the Isfahan iron smelting plant.
Stating that Orenburg has about 3.5 million hectares of state and private agricultural lands, he said: Currently, all its fertile agricultural lands are utilized for the products including wheat, sunflowers, and watermelon.
He further added: There are many commonalities of cooperation in the industry and agriculture sector between Isfahan province and Orenburg.
Referring to Iranian–Russian Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed on 17 January 2025, between the presidents of Iran and Russia, stated that improvement of economic and commercial activities between Isfahan and Orenburg is in consideration, as Orenburg has many similarities with Isfahan in terms of agricultural and industrial infrastructure.
In response to the question raised by Vahid Dezfouli, on the possibility  of distance-farming by Iranian investors, utilizing agricultural lands in Orenburg, Grachev Sergey Ivanovic said: It is possible to lease a part of its agricultural land to the farmers of Isfahan, and it is also possible to dedicate a part of the land of Orenburg to the production of light livestock jointly with the Islamic Republic of Iran, as there is an ample of feed resources available in Orenburg.
He then added: Orenburg has many unutilized mines which a good opportunity for investors to consider.
Petukhov Ignat Evgenievich, the Vice-Governor of Orenburg region, also called for the establishment of permanent trade relations with Iran and said: Orenburg is logistically close to Iran, which is an advantage.
 He added: 56 million people live within a thousand-kilometer radius of Orenburg, 20% of whom are Muslims, and it is considered a big market.
He said: Orenburg's economic activities are mainly in three sectors: agriculture, mining and industry, and all Mendeleev’s elements are present in mines in this province.
 At the end of this meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Chaiman of the Legislative Assembly of the Orenburg and the President of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce.
